To Keep or Not to Keep

A few months ago I found this mid century table and chairs while out thrifting.  I really just wanted the chairs, but they wouldn't sell the chairs without the table.  I purchased the set planning to leave the table until I noticed it had 3 leaves.  With all three leaves in it is a whopping 8 feet long!  What a great length when entertaining!

I recovered the chairs with some great striped vintage linen.  I know I want to keep the chairs, but I still can't make up my mind about the table.  To keep or not to keep.....

Crossing things off the list

I have had this little wooden caddy for quite some time and I finally got around to giving it a new coat of paint.

It has so many possibilities.... including making it's way to my etsy shop!

I also painted several vintage frames and chalkboard inserts.  I love when something on my list gets crossed off, especially when it has been there for months!

Rway vanity

Rway Vanity

Let me start by stating I was not the first person to paint this great piece. When I thrifted this desk several years ago it had been painted white. It's original wood color was a mid century goldish tone.

It was made by Rway Furniture Co. and is a sturdy piece of furniture. The middle of the top opens to expose a vanity mirror and storage space.

Great piece. Hate to sell it, but I really don't have space for it. It might just start a furniture moving frenzy....

Mid Century Kroehler Sleep or Lounge Sofa

Kroehler Sofa
I really wasn't in the mood to go thrifting last week, but I had not been down the road to a few of my favorite spots since... forever!

Thank goodness I made the trip.  After wandering for around I spotted this mustard yellow couch in fabulous condition.  I immediately sat down.  It was coming home with me.  Two decades ago I would have tossed anything mid century.  I have learned my lesson with age and I love the style and simplicity of 1950's furniture.

This sofa had to belong to someone with a "formal" living room.  I am not sure it was used, let alone touched, more than a few times.
